Architecture for Humanity NY MadFunFarm is seeking one dedicated individual to join the team as project co-coordinator. Located in an urban garden, this exciting project consists of designing and building a temporary structure which will function as a stage with the capacity for rain water collection integrated within its structure. The garden is used every day by children ages 7-11 who live in the surrounding area and helps to create a safe environment where the children can learn the skills to become proactive members of their community while participating in the urban environmental health movement.
The responsibilities include Archtecture for Humanity NY volunteer recruiting and management, scheduling, design process management, client communications, budget drafting, materials sourcing and fabricator contacts. The candidate will work in conjunction with the other project coordinator and the AFH volunteer team towards developing a viable design solution and continue into the construction of the proposed design.
Expect to contribute a minimum of 5 hours weekly to the project. Experience in project and/or volunteer management a plus. Experience with structures, sustainable design and/or water harvesting a plus.
