Save the Date: Wine Tasting & Food Pairing Fundraiser
Please join Architecture for Humanity for a Wine Tasting and Food Pairing event to raise awareness and funds to support the pro-bono community design projects throughout the five boroughs of New York.
We will taste 4-5 different wines from small, family farmed estates paired with picnic favorites, just in time to start summer. The Moore Brothers has donated their time and expertise and as a result 95% of your ticket will be used for the New York chapter of Architecture for Humanity and 5% will be donated to the global organization.
The event will include a brief presentation about the current projects Architecture for Humanity of New York are implementing and how volunteers can get involved. Architecture for Humanity New York Directors and Project Coordinators will be available to answer questions.
Tickets are $20.00 and you can pay using Paypal by emailing the address below. Please RSVP as space is limited! If available, tickets will be $25.00 at the door for $25.00.

Just like New York City, Austin has its homeless folks who roam around the corner. And to be able to wipe them off away, for SXSW 2012, BBH Labs, the experimental division of marketing company Bartle Bogle Hegarty, announced a charitable experiment, called “Homeless Hotspots.” The idea was to employ 13 homeless people, sourced from an Austin shelter, the Front Steps Shelter, and equip them with a 4G MiFi, or mobile Wi-Fi device, according to Wired. They’d walk around and people could pay to use the Wi-Fi. They were paid $20 upfront and $50 per day for four days, according to Forbes. According to the Daily Mail, they kept the proceeds from sales.A lot of people were ticked about it, too.
