Architecture for Humanity New York is a local chapter of Architecture for Humanity, a global network of professionals united by the desire to use our skills for the common good.
We are committed to providing sustainable design, construction, and development services where they are most critically needed.
Since our chapter was founded in 2003, we have completed over 40 local projects for underserved New York City communities.

Current Director: Annie Ledbury
The Managing Director is responsible for both the day-to-day running of the organization and for developing plans for the future of the organization.
The Managing Director’s responsibilities include:
motivating and mentoring members and directors and chairs meetings.
Current Director: Alex Poole
The Director of Communications manages the communications team and serves as a conduit for all internal and external communications. Specific responsibilities of the communications team include:
identifying and planning communication goals for the New York chapter
creating communications documents and materials
building and developing media relations

The Director of Development is responsible for developing organizational strategies and pursuing organizational opportunities.
The Director of Development’s responsibilities include:
establishing and maintain relationships with beneficial organizations.
managing partnerships both between Architecture for Humanity NY and external organizations and between two external organizations, including relationships with city organizations, press, and media.

The Director of Membership is responsible for managing all aspects of potential, new, and existing members. If you would like to become involved with Architect for Humanity NY please contact the Director of Membership. The Director of Membership’s responsibilities include:
managing the monthly working meetings. This includes introducing new and innovative ways to make meet-ups productive and engaging following the guidelines of the mission statement.

The Director of Outreach and Advocacy seeks out and acquires any
information that might benefit the organization.
The Director of Outreach and Advocacy’s responsibilities includes:
seeking out and fostering external relationships with potential clients, partners, sponsors, beneficiaries, supporters, and volunteers.
seeking out strategic community involvement such as Open House New York weekend.
seeking out appropriate means for the organization to have public presence.

The Director of Projects has two primary sets of responsibilities for all aspects related to projects. The first is overseeing current projects to ensure a quality of design and compliance with all applicable regulations. The second is facilitating and encouraging the responsible development of new projects.
